Terms of Use
1. What MIE Network is
MIE Network is a private, non-commercial community platform run by students and alumni of the MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Esade Business School, operated by [TODO controller / association name] (“we”). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Esade or Fundació Esade. “Esade” is a trademark of its owner and is used solely to identify the programme our members attended.
2. Who can join
Membership is limited to current students and graduates of the programme. Membership requests are reviewed by fellow alumni (“cohort captains”) or administrators, who may ask for evidence and may refuse or revoke membership at their discretion. You must sign in with your own LinkedIn account and provide accurate information about yourself.
3. Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your LinkedIn credentials safe and tell us at once if you suspect misuse. One person, one account.
4. Acceptable use
The Service exists for professional networking, co-founder matching and sharing opportunities among members. You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, export or store other members’ data outside the Service, or use it for any purpose other than contacting them individually as a member;
- send unsolicited commercial promotion, recruitment for paid services aimed at members, or repeated messages to people who have not replied;
- circumvent visibility settings, sending limits or the approval process;
- impersonate anyone, misstate your cohort or employer, or post content that is unlawful, discriminatory, harassing or defamatory;
- upload malicious code or attempt to access data or systems you are not authorised to use.
The Code of Conduct forms part of these terms.
5. Broadcasts and messages
Broadcasts are subject to technical limits (number per week, audience size, recipient cooldowns) designed to keep the community usable. Large broadcasts may require administrator approval. Recipients can opt out of categories or unsubscribe entirely; you must respect that. Messages you send may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to what you write. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store and display it to members as necessary to run the Service, ending when you delete it or your account.
7. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms, after contacting you where reasonably possible. We may discontinue the Service; in that case we will give members at least 30 days’ notice and the possibility to export their data.
8. Availability and liability
The Service is provided free of charge, by volunteers, “as is”. We do our best to keep it available and secure but make no guarantees. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, for the accuracy of information members publish about themselves, or for the outcome of any contact, partnership or employment initiated through the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they apply. Continued use after that date means you accept them.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes are subject to the courts of [TODO: Barcelona], without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
